We had our usual breakfast at a boulangerie. It was an Indian boulangerie, so we had a mix of pain de chocolat and samosas, as well as great coffee.
Then we were off to catch our River Seine boat for a one hour trip up and down the Seine. It’s such a great way to get a feel for the city and see lots of the major monuments and buildings. Lovely blue skies with clouds.
After the boat tour, we basically re-walked most of it. We walked in the embassy district, across some of the amazing bridges, looked inside The American Church in Paris, and wandered around the Louvre gardens.
We got some food from a Supermarket and had a relaxed picnic in the Esplanade de Invalides. We discussed and shared favorite music. We had a stinky adventure at a 24 hour toilet where I almost got locked in during the cleaning phase. We crossed the Pont Alexandre III which is an extravagant bridge. A bit more wandering, we walked along the Seine where the street vendors sell books and art prints.
Made our way back to the area near our hotel and had another amazing Indian meal – so good! Returned to our hotel so that Jude could do some school work and we could all rest before heading out into the night at 10 pm.
We wanted to see the Eiffel Tower lit up and it did not disappoint. It was crowded and wild, but completely magical and when they turned on the sparkle lights, it was delightful. We kissed, took cool photos, and headed back to the hotel for a sleep.
